Your privacy.
Largs Web is run by Stephen Murdoch in Largs, North Ayrshire. Stephen is responsible for the personal information described here. Contact hello@largsweb.com with any questions or requests about your data.
When you get in touch
The enquiry form collects your name, email address and message. Please only include the information needed to discuss your project, and don’t send passwords, payment details or other sensitive information.
I use these details to answer your questions and discuss potential work. Where you ask for a quote or services, this is to take steps at your request before entering a contract. General correspondence is handled under my legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
How your message reaches me
Cloudflare hosts this website and processes form submissions. Postmark delivers the enquiry email, and Fastmail stores it in my business mailbox. The website does not keep a separate database of enquiries. I don’t sell your details or add you to a marketing list.
These providers may process information outside the UK. Their privacy and data-processing information explains their locations and the safeguards used for international transfers: Cloudflare, Postmark and Fastmail.
Security and website services
Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser details and request data to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. Turnstile checks form submissions for bots, and the form applies a submission rate limit. Your message content is not deliberately written to application logs.
The homepage loads typefaces from Google Fonts, which receives technical request information such as your IP address. See Google Fonts privacy information. There are no advertising or marketing analytics scripts on this site. Cloudflare may use essential security technologies to protect it.
How long information is kept
Enquiries are kept while needed to respond, discuss a project and maintain relevant business records. I review correspondence and remove information that is no longer needed. If we work together, relevant messages may be retained with project records for contractual, accounting or legal purposes. Service providers also apply their own operational retention periods; Postmark’s standard message-content retention is 45 days.
Your choices and rights
You can use phone or email instead of the form. Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your information, have it deleted, restrict its use, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or receive a portable copy. Email hello@largsweb.com to make a request.
You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator.
